Culdee Fell Railway Bankrupt Due to Apple Investment

The Culdee Fell Mountain Railway fell into bankruptcy last afternoon after sinking nearly £20,000,000 into their newest apple orchard project.

Management of the railway apparently invested millions of pounds into the orchard believing it was an investment into the company, Apple, rather than an investment into the fruit.

“Yeah, in hindsight I should’ve realized something was up when I noticed those papers I signed didn’t have ‘apple’ capitalized.” The Tall Controller said. “We tried to make the most of what we got, but things fell through.”

The employees and engines of the Culdee Fell Railway now find themselves uncertain of the future. Some of them are just ready for the closure to be over with so they can move on.

“It was humiliating trying to help salvage the Tall Controller’s mistake.” Culdee explained. “For years I would take crates full of apple tree starts up to the summit, but obviously a mountain peak doesn’t foster a good climate for growing produce.”

“I should’ve taken a look at whatever the Thin Controller was investing in.” The Tall Controller groaned regretfully. “The Rock Crushing industry is booming right now, and he had Rheneas out there crushing stones like a mofo.”

At press time, the Fat Controller stated he would consider buying out the Culdee Fell Railway, as his Aquarium Car gambit turned out to be very profitable.
