Mattel CEO, Matthew Ellis, denied the company used AI when making the promotional material for the new Thomas and Friends reboot.
“AI? What is an ‘ay eye’? I’ve never heard of AI!” Ellis stated. “I wouldn’t even know how to use Chat GPT.”
Fans were quick to point out oddities and issues with the new images of Thomas, with many claiming Mattel likely used AI to generate them. Mattel denies this, and insists they were made by real artists.
“Grok, what do I say next?” Ellis whispered. “Oh, right! ‘Haha, it does look like it could be generated by AI! But nope! This is the real deal here! Made 100% by hand. If you’d like me to give a critique, just let me know!’”
The Thomas and Friends Reboot is expected to release sometime this year on YouTube Kids. Fans new and old can look forward to exciting storylines, such as an episode where the Fat Controller uses a giant rock to destroy a glass bridge.
