Every Thomas Reference in Bullet Train (2022)

When the movie Bullet Train (2022) released Thomas fans were delighted to see that it was filled with a plethora of Thomas references. We’ve compiled a list of references for fans to look for as they watch the movie.

1 and 2. The Title

The title of the movie actually contains two Thomas Easter Eggs for us to find. The first reference is the word “Train” which refers to when multiple units of rolling stock are coupled together. Believe it or not, this is a reference to the trucks that Thomas pulled in the Season 3 episode, Trust Thomas.

The second Easter Egg in the title is the word “Bullet.” This is a reference to the cancelled Thomas movie which would have taken place during World War II, and probably would’ve had bullets at some point, idk.

2. The Titular Bullet Train

The Star of the movie is a Bullet Train played by Kenji, who starred in Thomas & Friends: Marvelous Machinary.

3. When Brad Pitt’s character said, “It’s Thomas Time.”

During the climax of the film, Brad Pitt’s character references Thomas’s signature catchphrase: “It’s Thomas Time.” He then starts Thomasing all over the place.

4. When my girlfriend stood up in the middle of the theater and shouted “I’ve told you hundreds of times to stop explaining every Thomas reference to me. If you can’t respect that, then we are through,” and stormed out.

Though this Easter egg was a bit harder to decipher, the use of the word “through” makes it clear that it was a reference to Gordon’s catchphrase, “Express coming through!”

5. Lemon’s Death

Lemon dies in this movie. This is a reference to the episode Spotless Record where Thomas tricks Arthur into ruining his spotless record and massacres thousands of innocent fruits in the process.

Those are all the Thomas references in the movie, Bullet Train. Did you catch these on your first watch? Let us know if there are any we missed in the comments below.
