Joe Biden is an avid railfan, explaining his strange behavior around women. But you might not know that he also loves Reverend Awdry’s books. In a recent press conference, he addressed this when answering questions about infrastructure and transportation.
“I recently started reading Thomas the Train, and I have to admit I admire what the Reverend did for the Railways.” The President explained. “His books had an incredibly positive impact.”
Joe Biden went on to explain how Thomas and his Friends could influence our country going forward.
“I loved that story about the train getting shut up in a tunnel. Not so much the story that came after.” Said Biden. “I loved it so much, that I had my staff seal a dog under a stage during my campaign. That’s just a taste of what’s to come.”
Some of the new ideas Joe presented are straight from the Railway Series. These include: Putting a fat man in charge of Amtrak, running diesels on Welsh Coal as a reference to Henry, renting out old railway facilities to Barbers, and much more.
“With a little help from these books, I’m sure we can improve the modern rail network.” Declared Joe. “We will make Amtrak Really Useful Again!”
