A Policeman has issued a request to Sir Topham Hatt and the Ffarquhar Quarry Manager suggesting they give Toby and Mavis different colors. Officer Brewster explained that their current liveries are distracting to his work.
“I usually sit at this crossing near the quarry where I watch traffic, so I see Toby and Mavis all the time.” He explained. “But every time I see something Brown in the distance, I get my baton out and get ready to preform some justice, only to realize it’s actually Toby coming down the line. I think Toby should be purple, so I don’t confuse him for a minority.”
This isn’t the first time there’s been trouble with the police near this crossing. Many years ago, another police officer wouldn’t allow Thomas to run this line, forcing Sir Topham Hatt to purchase Toby.
“First the Police say we have to buy a Tram Engine, now they’re saying we can’t use the Tram Engine?” Sir Topham Hatt stated rhetorically. “My father loved Toby and he wouldn’t have agreed to such a silly request.”
Sudrians have criticized this police request, and the Mayor has launched a full investigation into the Sudrian Police department.
“Mr. Mayor said we’re going to be investigated for negligence, corruption, and ‘a general history of unreliability.’ I don’t know what his deal is.” Officer Brewster said. “I just don’t understand how we’re supposed to do our jobs when Toby and Mavis come along and make us miss our chances to pull over minorities.”
