“Everything is Fine! Mattel knows what they’re doing!” Exclaimed the moderator of Footplate Forums to his Twitter followers as Mattel declared bankruptcy.
Oliver Jack has been moderating Footplate Forums for years, and even designed the website’s outdated UI in the 90’s. Although some toxic fans have made some very toxic complaints about the state of the Thomas and Friends franchise, Oliver Jack has remained firm on his stance that Thomas is better than ever.
“The people at Mattel are professionals, and they know exactly how to engage with kids and keep the show relevant!” He explained as Mattel revamped the show to be less timeless. “We should be glad that Thomas is still around! That’s what Awdry would’ve wanted.”
Well duh! Awdry would definitely want the classic stories he wrote for his son to be treated as if they never happened! And he’d definitely want a big corporation to continue to milk every last penny out of consumers by cutting corners to make cheaper products to peddle onto children!
“Mattel is using Big World, Big Adventures as a way for kids to learn about different cultures and countries!” Jack stated as Mattel made Thomas visit caricatures of real countries. “Racist Thomas fans don’t seem to realize that it’s important kids see themselves represented by a train with the most horrifically stereotyped face possible.”
Oliver Jack was always critical of Mattel before, so that’s how you know you can trust him when he starts to explain why they’re doing so well now!
“I hated the lack of realism in Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure, but Big World’s lack of realism is amazing!” He read from his phone as he tucked a check into his front pocket. “They really found a way to connect with kids and keep the pacing fast and interesting!”
